Welcome to a dynamic and happening school. This is a school that prides itself on developing unique and innovative programs to meet the needs of the range of students that we cater for.
Vision and purpose
In this vision we are acknowledging that:
‘Growing Together – Learning Forever’
Our vision ‘Growing Together – Learning Forever’ is the umbrella under which we work; This symbol represents growth as individuals, as a school community and as an integral part of the wider community.
Our History
Our school, located on the north-western outskirts of Toowoomba, was established in 1995 and is set on six hectares of land. Opening with 143 students and 12 teaching staff, the school has grown steadily over the years to become the vibrant learning community it is today.
Originally known as Cranley State School, a Steering Committee voted to change the name to Fairview Heights State School. The committee also selected the school's sports houses—named in honour of celebrated Australian athletes of the time - Allan Border, Cathy Freeman, and Kieren Perkins—as well as the school's uniform colours and design.
From the beginning, the Parents & Citizens' Association has played an important role in shaping the school. Through dedicated fundraising over many years, the P&C fundraised for a craft/ woodwork shed and multi-purpose sports courts.
A special mention goes to Kerri Sims, who has been part of the school community since its opening—both as a parent and as a Teacher Aide. Her commitment reflects the strong partnerships between staff, families, and the wider community that remain central to our school's identity.
