Extension Program

Louisa Wells - Enrichment and Extension teacher

An enrichment and extension teacher, Louisa Wells is co-ordinating programs and activities for selected high-achieving students.

Farleigh Heights State School aims to extend and enhance student learning with making high expectations explicit. The Extension Program is one way in which we encourage our high performing students to become active and self-directed learners.

Our Extension Program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to enhance their studies in particular areas of interest:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • History/Geography

The Extension Program may only be accessed once regular class work has been completed at an advanced level. Students are invited by their teacher to participate in the program based on achievement and effort in assessment tasks.

The Extension Program is to be completed in students’ own time and must be their own work. Teachers and parents may guide efforts but tasks must be completed by students themselves in order to achieve full credit for their work.

Awards will be presented on assembly to recognise the students who have completed the program.
